Community, The Trinity, and Who Our Neighbours Are

Today, Year 2 explored some big ideas through the Ten Ten curriculum — including what it means to belong to a community, understanding the Holy Trinity, and learning who our neighbours really are.

They discovered that a community includes everyone: not just our families, friends, home, clubs, church, but people we may not know personally. Through stories, songs, and discussion, we saw how we can be active, caring members of the communities we belong to.

We also introduced the children to the Holy Trinity — God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — helping them understand that God is love, and we are called to share that love with others.

One of the highlights was learning about The Good Samaritan, a powerful story Jesus told about loving and helping others, even when they are different from us.

The children reflected on how they can be good neighbours in everyday life — by being kind, helpful, and inclusive -to everyone.

This helped to shape not just knowledge, but our hearts and actions rooted in love, respect, and faith.
