Year 5 Anti-Bullying Week 2025

Year 5 have had a fantastic week taking part in Anti-Bullying Week 2025. We kicked things off with Odd Socks Day, a fun way to celebrate individuality and remind ourselves that everyone is unique and should be respected for who they are.

Throughout the week, the children explored online safety and what bullying can look like in the digital world. Together, we discussed how to stay safe online, who to talk to if something doesn’t feel right, and the importance of speaking up for themselves and others. The children worked through a range of real-life online scenarios, thinking carefully about the best choices to make — what to say, what not to share, and when to get trusted adults involved.

To finish the unit, the class designed their own “positive phone screens” — creative patterns and messages showing how technology can be used for good. Their designs focused on kindness, support, and the positive impact we can all have when we use our devices responsibly.

It has been a thoughtful, reflective, and empowering week for Year 5. They showed maturity in their discussions and a genuine understanding of how their actions — both online and offline — affect others. We’re incredibly proud of them.
