Year 1 – Computing

During Year 1’s computing block this half term children have used Now>Press>Play to understand how to stay safe online. The children travelled through an jungle themed computer game whilst answering questions about online safety. Pupils learned that they should always tell a grown up if something pops up that they are unsure about and to ask for help if they don’t understand something online or in an app.

Pupils were then given their own unique usernames and passwords to login to Purple Mash. The children did this independently and followed instructions on how to save their own work. We used the paint tool in the app to create digital drawings of toys and discussed how they have changed over time.

Year 1 were then introduced to the camera app and pic collage. They took pictures of toys in the classroom and created their own pic collages by adding images, text and changing the background of their collage. Excellent work Year 1⭐️
