Reading in Reception

As part of our phonics lesson, Reception enjoyed sharing a book with their reading partner. During the paired reading session the children took it in turns to read a page. One person being the pointer and the other person reading the words. In these sessions the children read each sentence three times, the first to decode any words, the second to develop fluency and the third to use intonation and expression.
