Today, pupils began their exciting journey into the computer science strand of our computing curriculum. The children have started exploring a range of coding skills using the interactive learning platform Code.org.
Code.org provides a fun and accessible way for children to learn the fundamentals of programming. Through games, puzzles, and creative challenges, pupils develop problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and an understanding of how computers follow precise instructions to perform tasks.
In today’s lesson, the children experimented with block-based coding, learning how to create simple algorithms and sequences. There was a real buzz of excitement in the classroom as pupils saw their code come to life on the screen—solving challenges, moving characters, and building confidence step by step.
We’re looking forward to seeing how their skills progress over the the next few days as they take on more complex challenges and begin to think like true computer scientists!
