Eco Club at the Climate Friendly Schools Awards 2025

This year, we have been working towards becoming a Climate Friendly School by completing a series of 10 Climate Actions. These actions have helped us make more sustainable choices, raise awareness across our school community, and take real steps to care for our planet. A group of our Eco Club children were over the moon to attend the Climate Friendly Schools Awards at the Civic Centre. The day began with a warm welcome and an inspiring Superhero Workshop, where we explored what it means to be a climate hero and imagined what Eco superpowers would help the planet. Throughout the day, schools shared presentations about their sustainability work, and the children took part in activities like Action Plan Bingo, Top Trumps, and a hands-on workshop building floating wind turbines. There were also plenty of opportunities to visit stalls, chat with other schools, and gather ideas to bring back to our own Eco Club. The event finished with the official awards presentation, where all the schools were recognised for their hard work in making positive changes for the environment. It was a fun and inspiring day, and our pupils returned full of enthusiasm and new ideas for future Eco projects. Miss Bell and Mrs Kemp were extremely proud of the children who represented our school so positively throughout the day. They joined in with enthusiasm, showed great teamwork, and asked thoughtful questions. Their behaviour was excellent, and they were a credit to our school.
