Y4 and the History of Newcastle 🏰

Y4 started their new History topic on the History of Newcastle today. They looked at where they would have chosen to settle in the North East if they were a part of Hadrian’s army & why, using their prior learning on the Romans and settlements. They learnt that Newcastle was originally a fort called Pons Aelius some time around 213AD/CE, named after Hadrian’s family! 🤩
