🌍 A Very Special Visitor: Year 3 Explores How to Help Planet Earth! 🌿

Today was a truly inspiring day at school as we welcomed a very special visitor who brought an important message: our planet needs us! The entire school came together to learn about Planet Earth, recycling, and what we can do—right now—to make the world a better, greener place for everyone.

In Year 3, we took on a BIG question:

“Have humans changed the weather?”

To find out, we explored the difference between weather and climate—two words we often hear, but don’t always understand fully. Weather, we learned, is what’s happening outside right now (sunshine, rain, wind), while climate is the long-term patterns over many years.

We became young environmental scientists, investigating how things like pollution and deforestation might be affecting our climate. Using different materials—paper, plastic, metal—we explored how recycling and choosing the right materials can reduce waste and limit harm to the planet. There were hands-on experiments, discussions, and some amazing teamwork!

But the excitement didn’t stop there

đŸŽ€ We shared our discoveries with the whole school during assembly! Our Year 3 pupils confidently presented their findings and ideas on how we can all make a difference. From reducing plastic use to planting more trees, they inspired their peers (and even the teachers!) to think about their role in protecting Earth.

We also showcased colourful posters, eco-slogans, and even a mini “weather vs. climate” quiz that had everyone buzzing.

It was a day full of curiosity, creativity, and care for our planet—and we couldn’t be prouder of our budding eco-warriors!

💚 Ask your child what they learned today—you might be surprised by how much they know and how passionate they are about making a change!
