This term, Year 4 have been on an exciting creative writing journey inspired by one of Newcastle’s most beautiful spots: Jesmond Dene . Known for its winding paths, sparkling waterfalls, and hidden bridges, Jesmond Dene gave us the perfect setting to let our imaginations run wild.

The children in Year 4 have recently been introduced to Melva, a creative programme designed to help children and young people's knowledge and understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Year 4 have been having great fun learning all about the Ancient Greeks, this half term. From learning about gods and goddess to the Battle of Marathon, from the Trojan War to Greek philosophers, and finishing off with their very own Year 4 Ancient Greek Olympics... take a look at the photos to see the smiles on their faces.

For their first science unit of the school year, Year 4 having been exploring everything sound! They have used a range of instruments to explore how sounds are made, made string telephones to investigate how sounds are simply vibrations, explored sound volume and frequency, and learnt about how humans should protect themselves from some sounds.
