Y4 Geography Fieldwork at the Coast

This half-term, Year 4 have been learning about disappearing coastlines in their geography topic. Today, we visited Whitley Bay to carry out some fieldwork. We collected pebbles and observed longshore drift, we looked for signs of coastal erosion, defences and landforms, we recorded data in tally charts, took pictures and were able to interview a few people about why they visited the beach.

We will be writing up our findings during the week!

We were also treated to some well-deserved hot chocolate afterwards too and had some fun in the sand! 🌊🪨☕️🌦🚇😁
