On Friday morning, Year 6 pupils led Year 5, parents and parishioners in a moving and respectful Holocaust Memorial Service. As well as remembering the victims of the Holocaust, Year 6 reminded us that Holocaust Memorial Day is also an opportunity to remember all victims of war and persecution in our world. The pupils shared stories of the Holocaust and prayers were offered for all of its victims and survivors.
The theme of the service was ‘The Power of Words’ in which we were invited to think about how our words can have a positive impact in the world, in particular, those around us; even the smallest of kind words can make the biggest difference. The pupils, parents and parishioners were then invited to light a candle and place it around the prayer table in memory of those caught up in the Holocaust.
