On Friday morning Reception and Year 1 made the most of the snow in our school grounds.
Year 1 built an igloo under the canvas just of our main playground. There was plenty of discussion around the best way to build the igloo and Mr Gowdy was asking the children what 3D shapes they were making in their design. With Year 1 currently working on their ‘Castles’ topic it was great to see this work coming through in the children’s vocabulary!
Our Reception children were having great fun on the main yard in their very own Snow Olympics! It was fantastic to see them all wrapped up enjoying the snow together! The skills on view were team work, throwing and target shooting!
Thank you to both Mr Gowdy and Phil for clearing the areas for the children to work/play in while they were learning!
