Advent 2019

Advent 2019

A huge thank you to all family and community members over the month of December for your support with everything that we managed to deliver in Advent.

It started for staff with our weekly liturgy together -a great chance to come together as a team and take some time to reflect on the busy period ahead of us. Thank you to Miss McTernan for leading us in this time of preparation.

The whole school enjoyed our now annual trip to the Tyne Theatre for the Aladdin Pantomime -a great time was had by all!

Key Stage 2 led us in a lovely, reflective and prayerful Christingle Service. It was a cold, dark night, but the children and families that attended ‘Shone in Little Ways’ with song, dance, prayer and readings.

Year 1 led us in our final Mass of the decade with our Christmas themed celebration as a school. Again, we were delighted by the children’s maturity and sense of respect when reading, leading us in song, prayer and dance!

In the final week, we had our Mini Vinnies visit our housebound Parishioners with cards and gifts to let them know we are thinking of them at Christmas. The whole school prepared crafts and gifts for our Christmas Fair. Year 6 led us in the Jesse Tree Liturgy on the final morning and at the end of the last day the whole school celebrated Carols in the Forest School -phew… what a wonderful end to the decade at St. Teresa’s… remember to ‘Shine in Little Ways’ in 2020 -happy New year!

One Response to Advent 2019

  1. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff for all the effort they put into the various Christmas activities the children had access to this year. I thought they had a lovely, exciting build up to Christmas with some great activities which Daniel thoroughly enjoyed and I realise these things don’t happen without a lot of extra work and effort!
