Y5 Wellbeing Week

Y5 Wellbeing Week

Hello Year 5,

I hope you are all keeping well and staying busy whilst you are continuing to learn from home.

This week, your tasks are a bit different as we have decided as a school that we will all focus on Wellbeing. In these difficult times when we cannot all be together and do the things that we would all usually do, such as see friends and family, visit attractions and go to school, it is very important that you look after your own wellbeing and help others to look after their wellbeing too. Taking care of your mental health and wellbeing helps you feel more positive, more comfortable, healthy and happy and it also has a positive effect on those around you.

Please find attached a grid which contains lots of links or activities compiled by the staff at school about wellbeing. You can choose the activities which you feel are most appropriate but you can also challenge yourself to try something new. Taking on a new challenge and discovering something new is often a very good way to feel more positive and energised.

Don’t forget to post photos of anything you have done on Seesaw as I would love to see you what you have been up to.

Enjoy your week, aim high and show us what you are made of!

Mrs Mackenzie

Well-being Week 29th June

All Year 5 parents were sent a text message last week containing the name of your child’s Reception buddy from September. We would also like Year 5 pupils to write a letter to their new Reception buddy this week or next week. It would be good if you could write a letter either on your computer, or handwritten, and send it into the school email address or post it to school so we can forward it on to your buddy. Please include your name and tell them a bit about yourself. You may want to tell them about your favourite food, colour, activities, sport, things you like doing at school, what you can remember about being in reception and how you will try to help them when they start school. Try to also include a photograph or if that is not possible a drawing of yourself. Please try and send your letter in by Wednesday 8th July so we have enough time to send it to your buddy.
