R.E. in Year One

R.E. in Year One

Year One have started a new topic in R.E. all about Waiting. The children discussed how they felt about waiting for something such as a birthday or the birth of a new baby cousin.

The class then talked about Advent and how it is a time for waiting and preparing for the birth of Jesus. The children all started to make their own Advent clock to count down to Christmas.

Today the children took part in some spirited art linked to their RE topic on Belongings. The children thought about all they have learnt about baptism and they created a piece of art work including a candle and key words. Year 2 finished their R.E. topic – Signs and Symbols – by producing an image based on some of the areas covered in baptism. Children chose to do a white dove as a symbol of peace, a lit baptism candle, and rays of sunlight to represent Jesus as the light of the world.    Continue Reading
