In year six we have been learning about Jewish festivals. We learned that during the festival of Rosh Hashanah, apples dipped in honey are eaten with a prayer that God will make the new year a good and sweet one. A blessing is said over the fruit:
“Blessed are you, Lord our God, king of the universe, who creates the fruit of the tree”
We all had a try of the apples dipped in honey and we thought they were delicious!
