Some children from Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a project about their local area with Sean Peacock who is studying for a PhD at Newcastle University. After an initial briefing, they walked around the local area of Heaton and recorded the amount of pollution using specialist technology. The following day, they discussed their findings and then designed a solution to counteract the pollution problems around Heaton. On the final day of the project, they presented their findings and ideas to some local councillors and people who work for the council. The children all worked with excellent enthusiasm and applied great knowledge and skills throughout the whole project. Thank you very much Sean for working with us!
