The National Museum of the Royal Navy – Hartlepool
Ahoy, landlubbers! A bunch of rag-tag pirates have been spotted at the historic Hartlepool quayside. They’ve come to port for the day and have been impressing the locals with their knowledge of fellow pirates such as Edward Teach, Anna Bonny and William Kidd! The little pirates took part in a tour of the tall ship, an interactive tour in the museum of a battle at sea, and a Q&A session with a feisty ole’ sea dog.
Travel back in our mari-time machine to experience how it was aboard a real British naval frigate, two centuries ago. Explore the historic quayside, featuring ‘Pressganged’, ‘Fighting Ships’, realistic period shops and houses and much more.
NMRN Hartlepool is a superb re-creation of an 18th century seaport and it brings to life the time of Nelson, Napoleon and the Battle of Trafalgar. Authentic period dress, marvel at Britain’s oldest warship afloat HMS Trincomalee!
