Reception and Year 1 children will be visiting Tynemouth Longsands on Tuesday 18 June, travelling by private coach leaving at 9.30am and returning at 2.30pm.
Children can wear their own clothes, but they must be suitable for the beach. They should wear shorts/skirt and t-shirt or a dress (your child’s shoulders and the tops of their arms need to be covered), sandals – ideally without socks, a thin jacket or hoody, and a sun hat. Please could your child wear their swimwear under their clothes. They need to bring a small backpack and inside it they need a towel, a spare outfit and underwear. Sun cream needs to be applied on the morning before coming to school, but can be packed for re-application. Your child can bring a small bucket and spade; this MUST be labelled with their name in sharpie or using waterproof stickers.
If you are providing your own packed lunch for your child, please send it in a plastic bag labelled with their name. Please send a disposable water bottle and don’t send Tupperware. This means that we can throw away packaging and leftovers and don’t need to worry about bringing any lunch bags and boxes back to school. Packed lunches should be nut free and should not contain sweets or chocolate.
If you would like to join us at the beach please meet us there at approximately 10am – all are welcome! We will be based near Crusoes.
The festival is an opportunity for schools to play competitive matches against other schools from around the North East and Cumbria and visit Kingston Park Stadium the home of Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder.
St. Teresa’s Choir will be singing at 3pm on the Village Green in Heaton Park.
