Merry Christmas!

I’ve updated the gallery section with photos from the past half term- please have a look!

Thank you to all Reception children and parents for a fantastic first term!
Have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

FYI- Next term’s topic is ‘Bears’- your child needs a small, labelled bear to keep in school for the term. They will be doing lots of work around their bear. More info to follow in the Spring Term info booklet.

A great start to being part of Reception Class!

The children have made a great start to school and are all settling well and getting to know the daily routines.
In order to prepare your child for full time school, which starts Monday 26th September, next week please say goodbye to your child at the door and encourage them to come into the classroom independently.
They will have help to put away their bags and change their shoes. Then they should go and sit at their table and play with the resources available. They will be expected to stay at their table for 5-10 minutes and after that we will take the register, carry out our morning prayers and routines and then play!
Each table has different coloured chairs. There is a letter in your child’s book bag which tells you which table they should sit at.
It would be really helpful if you could talk to your child over the weekend about what to expect on Monday morning. We have had a discussion about it today and have played some games to help to remember which table to sit at.
Have a wonderful weekend, see you on Monday!

Welcome children and parents of Reception Class 2016-2017!

A warm welcome to all children and parents of Reception Class 16/17. Two thirds of the class have now started and the remaining third will start school tomorrow. Thank you to all parents who have sent in the ‘All About Me!’ booklet, this has really helped us to develop a greater understanding of your child and has helped as we try to forge relationships with them. Thank you also to those of you who have sent in a framed family photograph. Our families display is really beginning to take shape.
Information with regards to class routines etc will be sent out next week. In the meantime if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Don’t forget to check out the photo gallery to see what your child has been getting up to in their first few days at school!
