At the start of the Soring Term, Reception started a programme called Letterjoin which supports the learning of cursive and joined up handwriting.They have made fantastic progress with their handwriting and are beginning to join up!
Year 5 had a brilliant time on their residential trip to Dukeshouse Wood in Hexham. Year One attended a multi skills festival at Walker Activity Dome. The children participated in a variety of game based activities that promoted agility, balance and co-ordination. The children showed enthusiasm, determination and teamwork and had a fabulous time. Continue Reading
The pupils in Year 5 (assisted by some of our lunchtime supervisors) took part in Playground Leaders training last Wednesday with Rachel from Newcastle PE and School Sports Service. There was a challenge in the sandpit this week- to choose and use materials to make a barrier so ‘the sea’ didn’t go onto the sand. The girls chose to use rocks. They moved the rocks and pebbles to the sand edge. They used the sticks as well and then tested the barrier by adding water.… Continue Reading
